If you travel to Governor’s Harbor directly from the U.S. you will go through Bahamian Immigration and Customs in the GHB airport. After this is completed a baggage handler will help you find your transportation. You should tip these fellows $5 or $10 dollars; they work hard and appreciate it.
In most cases, our guests arrange for a rental car that is waiting for them at the airport. Don’t expect much. The importation duty on cars is 50%, so most of the rental cars are not the latest and greatest. If you are having the car left at the house, you can find a taxi driver at the airport and tell him you are staying at Wish, the Doramus’ place in Double Bay. They’ll know where to go. You should stop in town for groceries on your way to the house.
If you fly into Nassau, Customs will be handle there and your flight to GHB will be a normal domestic arrival.
