Driving

Queens Highway runs down the middle of the island for its entire length. DRIVE ON THE LEFT! If you haven’t done this before, it will take a little time to get used to it. Be especially careful at night. Did we mention DRIVE ON THE LEFT. There is little or no lighting on the highway, and old cars without taillights and hitchhikers are common.

It is customary to return a wave to those you pass, and hitchhiking is a common way of travel. Any rides you give will be greatly appreciated. Oh yes, and don’t forget DRIVE ON THE LEFT.

Gas

Gas is available in several locations along the Queen’s Highway and even when sold by the imperial gallon is expensive. You can’t always be certain that service stations are open or that they have gas to sell, so watch the gauge and fill up whenever you have the chance.
