There are three main types of fishing available on Eleuthera: deep sea fishing on the Atlantic, bottom fishing on the Caribbean side, and bone-fishing in the shallow bays of the Caribbean.
Most guides specialize in bottom fishing on the calmer Caribbean side of the island or bone-fishing on the bays. A few will go out on the Atlantic through Savannah Sound (3 miles south of Double Bay). You can also get a chartered fishing or dive boat at Harbour Island (approx. 1 hour north of Governor’s Harbor). This tends to be expensive simply because it’s Harbour Island.
Davis Harbor, at the south end of the Island is a nice little marina where serious fishermen hang out.
Valentine’s on Harbour Island is your best bet for scuba diving.
